Snacks and Wellness Policy
Wellness Policy
The Winner School District has adopted a nutritious snack policy for treats and celebrations. This policy is put in place to reduce access to non-nutritional foods and to educate students about healthy foods.

Mid-Afternoon Snacks
I have found it beneficial for the class to have a mid-afternoon snack. Winner Elementary will once again be taking part in a Fruit and Vegetable Snack program. Fresh fruits and vegetables will be served to each student as an afternoon snack on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week. Students are asked to provide the snack on Mondays. I will send home a monthly snack calendar asking for families to provide snacks we can keep in our closet.
Water Consumption
I permit my students to bring a water bottle to school to keep on their desks during the day and to use at recess. Plain water is the only beverage permitted, and the bottle must have a secure lid. Water bottles should be taken home regularly to be cleaned.
